The Corona virus pandemic of 2020-21 took a heavy toll, not least on regular outlets for live jazz music which were forced to cease their activities for at least fifteen months if not longer. Some, like the Pave Jazz Jam seem to have ceased operations, while Jazz@The Lairgate in Beverley, started up Friday night live jazz sessions again in October 2021. With the exception of the well-subsidized Hull Jazz Festival, others, like Hulljazz, are looking to re-establish themselves and find a new regular venues.
