What's On

The 17th annual BURTON AGNES JAZZ FESTIVAL runs from Friday July 12th., to Sunday July 14th. (See below)

A NEW JAZZ CLUB specializing in jazz/funk & hip-hop inspired sounds is operating monthly on a Saturday evening at the Polar Bear, Spring Bank, Hull HU3 1LR.

The 2024 Hull Jazz Festival is scheduled for a series of weekend events between November 9th – 23rd. For archive details and up-to-date information go to:

Hulljazz are currently staging a regular program of events for 2023-24, concluding on Tuesday July 9th. Sadly our regular venue the William Gemmell Club closed at the end of January 2024, but events have continued, using a choice of locations over the course of the season including a return to the Goodfellowship Inn, home to Hulljazz for many years prior to lockdown, and a new collaboration with the Albemarle Music Centre in Hull. Hulljazz has recently received a New Northern promoters award from Jazz North to develop emerging talent in the region.

Meanwhile, Jazz @The Lairgate in Beverley, East Yorkshire continues throughout the year with the contemporary sounds of the Jazz Makers Collective and their guest performers, alternating Friday evenings with the more traditional style Climax Jazz & Blues Band.    There are occasional jazz promotions take place at Hull Minster on Market Square, Social (formerly Fruit) on Humber Street, Hull & Pave, Princes Ave., Hull. There are also new live jazz ventures in the East Yorkshire region. A monthly series of concerts has recently concluded at the Pocklington Arts Centre which we hope will continue, and there is a regular jazz jam session at North Ferriby Village Hall.

Just south of the Humber Bridge in Lincolnshire, the Ropery Hall in Barton-on-Humber also promote regular jazz, folk & blues gigs.
