Hulljazz stage a regular program of events for 2023-24, which started on Wednesday September 27th., at the William Gemmell, but using a choice of venues over the course of the autumn season including a new collaboration with the Albemarle Music Centre in Hull. Hulljazz has recently received a New Northern promoters award from Jazz North to develop emerging talent in the region.
Meanwhile, Jazz @The Lairgate in Beverley, East Yorkshire continues throughout the year with the contemporary sounds of the Jazz Makers Collective and their guest performers, alternating Friday evenings with the more traditional style Climax Jazz & Blues Band.
There are occasional jazz promotions take place at Home bar and restaurant, 321, Beverley Road, Hull, Hull Minster on Market Square, Social (formerly Fruit) on Humber Street, Hull & Pave, Princes Ave., Hull. There are also new live jazz ventures in the East Yorkshire region. A monthly series of concerts has recently concluded at the Pocklington Arts Centre which we hope will continue, and there is a regular jazz jam session at North Ferriby Village Hall.
Just south of the Humber Bridge in Lincolnshire, the Ropery Hall in Barton-on-Humber also promote regular jazz, folk & blues gigs.
